Attorney Leon Small has been practicing law since being admitted to the California State Bar in December 1975. After spending about five years working for others in the areas of personal injury (for the victim as well as the insurers) and general civil law, he started his own practice in 1980.
In his decades of practice, he has worked as a solo practitioner. His practice grew and evolved into a mix of 50% general civil litigation with an emphasis on real estate related litigation. His track record consists of taking 40-50 cases to verdict, approximately a dozen jury trials, and over the years handled about 20 appeals. He has also handled numerous arbitrations and mediations, including ten years as a LASC sanctioned Arbitrator and Mediator.
The foundation of his practice is in transactional type cases, including:
- Formation of entities, such as corporations, LLCs, partnerships etc.
- Preparing and reviewing contracts of every imaginable business related subjects from commercial leases to Operating and Shareholders agreements
- Distributorships to employment contracts
He has in-depth experience in multiple areas of business law. He has counseled thousands of clients over the last four decades in contract options and business advice.
